Library Lion

Before:

  • Do you think a Lion belongs in a library?  Why or why not.

  • Ask the students to roar along with the lion when he roars.

RA AAHHHHHRRR!

 

During:

  • Why do you think the Lion did not come back to the library after Miss Merriweather broke her arm?  

  • Where do you think he went?

  • When Mr. McBee leaves the library what do you think he is looking for?

 

After:

  • How did the Lion feel when he was able to help around the library?

  • How does he feel when Mr. McBee tells him he is breaking
    the rules? 

  • How does the lion feels when Miss Merriweather tells 
    him to leave?

  • Did the rules make sense?  Why would there be a library rule, No lions in the library?

  • Should the lion have broken the rules?

Library Orientation

 

Review library rules and manners after reading Library Lion by Michelle Knudsen.

 

  • Review the list of rules that were in the book.  Do these rules make sense?  

  • Brainstorm with the students a list of rules that would be appropriate to your school library.  Try to make your rules with a positive spin (i.e. Walk vs. Do Not Run)
